Health Tip Of The Week...

Diet as cause and Diet as solution for Type 2 Diabetes
New research presented at the Endocrine Society's 92nd Annual Meeting, held this month (July, 2010) in San Diego, shows that natural antioxidants in the diet can be a powerful way to improve insulin resistance -- even in people who are obese and suffering from metabolic syndrome.  Dietary antioxidants include Vitamins E and C, Selenium and Beta-Carotene.

Top Ten Health Care Myths - Part 4 of 5

Myth #8 - Vaccines make you healthy
The idea that vaccines protect you from infectious disease is blatantly false in the long term.  Example:  this year's flu shot actually increases your potential susceptibility to next year's flu (we actually reported on this earlier this year).
Myth #9 - More research is needed to find cures
This is such a dangerous myth because they aren't looking for cures!  This myth has been around since the 1960's when cancer scientists claimed they were only a few years away from curing cancer.  Today, nearly 50 years later, can you name a single major disease that's been cured?  There aren't any.  And that's because drug makers make money from sick people.  It is way more profitable to keep patients sick and pretend to "manage" their disease through a lifetime of pharmaceuticals.
Myth #10 - Medicine is scientific
We alluded to this earlier.  Not only is there little science or scientific about medicine, the whole system is outdated, ineffective and is, today, causing much harm as one of the leading causes of illness, hospitalization and death.  An example of this is medicine fails to acknowledge the mind-body connection and foolishly believes the mind plays virtually no role in healing.  The whole approach of "treat the symptoms and forget the causes" approach to health care really is in need of a major change…a revolutionary shift.
A shift we have been promoting for years!!!

The Bottom Line…The Bottom Line…The Bottom Line…

Staying healthy isn't as difficult as you think, and it doesn't require health insurance or disease screening. It only requires making informed, intelligent decisions about what to eat, what to put on your skin and how to get more sunshine and physical exercise. Once you do these basic things, you'll find that you are no longer held victim by a western medicine health care system based on lies and outdated medical mythology.  Next week---the bonus myth gets shot down---
